On a Tuffit
Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, Broadway, Disney, Les Mis, Phantom, sometimes Glee, Modern Family, New Girl, Nick Jonas, Jane Austen, The Hunger Games. I love it all.
Earlier yesterday, we went down to the Whitney and the Met. They have this exhibition every year on the rooftop, and this year it was this really cool sculpture made out of geometric shapes with mirrors and plexiglass (it kind of looked like a spaceship). We were able to climb inside it and it was so disorienting. We also saw the ancient Japanese art display and a bit of the ancient Egyptian galleries.
Today we’re going back to see the vintage designer clothing exhibit, the European collection and the Steins collection. Also we’re doing a bit of shopping and seeing JCS tonight.

If ever you have the chance to see the Lion King live anywhere, GO SEE IT.
Oh my goodness, it was nothing short of amazing.
Everything was spot-on. All the actors and dancers were phenomenal. The scene changes were so smooth, and the special effects were incredible. There was this one part where this huge wooden Mufasa head was assembled in like 4 seconds. I have no idea how they even did it, I couldn’t believe it.
And man, the Circle of Life was the best scene there. Everything was amazing, but both it and the reprise at the end were absolutely beautiful. I’ll admit, it got me teary eyed.
Nearly the whole thing at one point or another made me want to cry because it was just so beautiful and so heartfelt and ugh I didn’t want it to end.
At the end of the show, I got to meet a few of the actors and they signed my playbill.
On a side note, Dashaun Young is mighty fine.
PS I’m in New York right now. We left at around 6 this morning, came in about 7 (their time), and then slept a bit because we had to wake up at 3:45.
But we’ll be going out soon, visiting the MOMA and picking up our Broadway tickets for tomorrow and the day after.
